Four Acres residents embark on Christmas Cruise
Residents at Four Acres Care Home in Studley sailed away on 19th December on a virtual cruise that took them around Europe, in a day of international food and entertainment experiences!
They sailed away from the UK on a full English breakfast, enjoyed the craic of the Irish with live Irish music, Irish coffees and tea loaf mid-morning. A wine reception and a range of French cuisine celebrated their arrival in France at lunch time, before they settled down for a trip down memory lane and a movie matinee “an American in Paris.” After a short stop for refreshments in Italy mid-afternoon the Final party ended in Spain with live Music, sangria, and a Mediterranean buffet, plus a special guest appearance from Santa!
The event celebrated the previous travels of residents through an extravaganza of European food and entertainment. The Home Manager said, “The residents who live at Four acres are special individuals, many of whom have travelled, lived and worked abroad. Today was a trip down memory lane to enjoy the tastes, sounds and entertainment of Europe on our virtual cruise. It reflected the past experiences of residents while bringing a element of fun life enrichment for all in our Four Acres Community.”
Margaret Midgeley, one of our residents, said, “I have had a whale of a time. It’s been so exciting. I feel excited like when I went out dancing as a young girl. The staff have been amazing.”
