Trip to see the Poppies Wave at Barge Pier

We recently enjoyed a lovely trip to see the Poppies Wave at Barge Pier then onto The Shorehouse for lunch. 

The sun shone that day and the group thoroughly enjoyed their day trip out. Iris Caten and her daughter Gill are new to Crowstone House and really enjoyed being included on our minibus trip. 

Doug Paveley, who is retired from the Royal Navy and a history buff, happily informed the group about the history of the Estuary, Shoebury Garrison and what it was like during WWII. But the highlight of Doug's day was a pint of Doombar bitter, a favourite tipple of his, that he had not sampled in over a year.
