Family members gives thanks to Nottinghamshire Care Home Manager

The following letter was received by Runwood Homes regarding Manager, Zimran Alan, of Leawood Manor, a Runwood Homes care home situated in West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire. This supportive example really is a true testament of our dedicated and committed staff members, who provide expert care within comfortable, home-from-home living environments.

Good Afternoon  

I really wanted to contact you and let you know of my experience of Leawood Manor, West Bridgford.

My mum moved into Leawood Manor on 22nd January from Shrewsbury, Shopshire. This was after a difficult 18 months of hospital stays from falls and dementia.

In December, she was admitted into a temporary care home in Shrewsbury, luckily Shropshire council approved funding for a care home nearer to us in West Bridgford if I managed to find one.  The council told me I needed a care home that had a EMI bed so I started ringing round.

Leawood was second on my list (I was searching by location) and I was told the manager would call me back, in the meantime I rung another 20 or so homes widening my search in desperation of a place.

Out of all the places I called, only one person called me back and only one person queried why my mum needed EMI. This is the same person -  the manager of Leawood Manor Zimran Alam.

After chatting to Zimran about mum, he said she was not in need of EMI but general Dementia care which they could offer.  I met with Zimran and looked round the home and the room available. The care home was warm, bright and friendly. I could not of found a more perfect place for Mum.

Mum has been there for 3 months now and I am happy with every part of her life and care in the home. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the food is great, fantastic activities and it's always so clean.

It really has made a big difference to have her close by and cared for.  This is the longest she has been out of hospital in 18 months. So a great big thank you and especially Zimran for taking the time and the interest to find out what Mum's needs were.  Honestly, nobody else did this.
