Michael has experience in managing services, assisting individuals with a cross-section of complex needs from acute mental health inpatient settings to independent living accommodation settings within the community. This includes support provision to individuals with a forensic history who presented with multiple clinical issues, including complex interactions and interdependencies, individuals who present with disorders that may be treatment resistant leaving them with significant neurocognitive and motivational deficits, individuals with progressive social withdrawal and deterioration, individuals nearing the end of their rehabilitation and individuals nearing their end of life. He also has experience managing Nursing, Residential, Home care, Extra care and Day Care service providers, which affords him a unique perspective into service provision to older people and ensuring that this service provision is delivered to the highest standard remains an intrinsic motivator and provides compassion satisfaction to him, hence his decision to specialise in caring for this client group. Michael’s mantra is “we are all one big family and family deserves the best from us in moments of vulnerability.”

 His knowledge of a service specifications across Health and Social care, legislative requisites and contract standards have informed him to be able to help services improve on their outcomes as he is able effect a positive balance of Quality Assurance and Quality improvement strategies, which he developed whist in previous Quality Assurance roles, through which he has experience in contract management, market oversight and service shaping/development plus experience in managing inappropriate provider performance and/or provider failure to improve on the shortfalls identified and experience of escalation of services to a placement embargo and/or service de-commission as appropriate. This knowledge and experience only contributes towards improving on existing Runwood Homes systems, strategies and innovations, thus improving on the already high standards of service provision within our organisation.
