Celia started working in Social Care in 1999 as a Care Assistant, moving on to Assistant Manager and then Home Manager for several years before moving in to a Regional Director role in 2014. Celia’s passion for working in social care and more specifically care homes for older people, is driven by the close bonds she had with her own grandparents; Celia’s aim is to ensure that older people have a great experience, firmly believing that when moving in to a care home, this is the start of a new chapter in someone’s life and our opportunity to ensure this is an engaging and meaningful chapter, full of laughter and activity.
Celia feels privileged to be working in the role of Director of Governance for Runwood Homes as this enables her to share her passion, experience and drive nationally; it’s clear that the aim of Runwood is to ensure high quality care for each and every person using services and Celia buys in to this wholeheartedly. The Director of Governance has responsibility in conjunction with the Quality Director for the overarching clinical governance agenda within the organisation.
