Runwood Homes celebrates multiple improved CQC service ratings

Commitment to ensuring significant improvements at a number of Runwood Homes’ residential care homes has been recognised by a string of improved ratings, identified in recent Care Quality Commission inspection reports.

In the past three months, three Runwood Homes have all achieved upgraded ratings from ‘Requires Improvement’ to ‘Good’, namely Loganberry Lodge in Colchester, Westwood in Worksop and Park View in Warwick.

Chief Operating Officer, Gavin O’Hare-Connolly, at the leading care home group said, ‘We are committed to implementing robust service enhancement plans in any of our homes performing below the requirements we expect, to realise a positive, rapid and maintained change in standards, and we are pleased to evidence the outcome of our team’s hard work in improved CQC reports.”

In addition, one of the company’s newest constructions, Chelmunds Court in Solihull, previously saw two consecutive ‘Inadequate’ ratings and has just achieved ‘Good’ in two of the five key lines of enquiry and is now more favourably rated ‘Requires Improvement’.

COO, Gavin O’Hare-Connolly, said of Chelmunds Court, "The new CQC rating gives absolute credence to the hard work the entire team have put in to see the service improve, with an onward improvement plan firmly in place to achieve ‘Good’ across the board. Relatives and professional visitors continue to convey a sense of satisfaction and residents enjoy living at Chelmunds Court.”

With one of the largest portfolio of care homes in the UK, Runwood Homes leads the way in residential care by maintaining excellent partnerships with all agencies and authorities, investing in both their homes and staff training, and monitoring all of its services very closely to ensure any improvements are sustained and enhanced to strive in the provision of person centred care.
