Deborah de Beer
I started my career in teaching in 1994 and then changed my career path to work in Health & Social Care as a care worker in domiciliary care. From there onwards, I moved to working in the care home environment, progressing from Team Leader, Unit Manager, Residential Manager, Home Manager, Relief Manager and Operations Manager. I have qualifications in Leadership and Management in Health & Social Care and Teaching. I have worked in Operations for 5 years, including an Area Manager. Previous roles also allowed me to gain experience in turning homes around from inadequate to achieving ‘good’ rating from CQC. I believe our residents come first, and the care we provide needs to be tailored to the resident’s wishes as much as possible. Our staff, services we offer and residents are my top priority, so I spend my first couple of months getting to know our dedicated care teams, as well as speaking to our residents and their families. My aim for the team is to put the needs of our residents at the heart of everything we do to ensure they lead independent, enriched and fulfilling lives.
