I have worked within the Health and Social Care sector for 23 years, working in every care home role, including Cook, Domestic, Carer, Administrator, Team Leader, Deputy Manager and Home Manager. I started my career as a Cadet Nurse in a local hospital where my passion quickly became clear that I wanted to support the older generation with their day to day care needs.

It was here that I obtained my NVQ 2and 3 in Health and Social Care at the age of 17. I have a passion for high quality care and believe that the older generation should receive the very best care all day, every day.

My passion throughout my career journey has been to work in each role of a care home to understand each dynamic that creates a team. This has enabled me to become a natural leader and led me to achieve a CQC Outstanding in Well-led whilst in a Home Manager role at Runwood Homes’ Caldwell Grange.

For a time, I delivered Health and Social Care training to individuals looking to begin a career in the care sector, through a local college, and shared my experience and knowledge encouraging students to gain a career in Health and Social Care.

I have been fortunate within my employment with Runwood Homes to be supported, to develop into a Regional Operations Director, to develop and progress my skills and knowledge. I have obtained an NVQ 3 in Management Principles, NVQ 5 Advanced Diploma in Leadership and Management and an NVQ 5 Advanced Diploma in Business.

My passion is person centred care and I strive to ensure that every residents’ care needs are acknowledged and met in the residents preferred way, ensuring they are encouraged to lead independent lives and are involved in all aspects of their care, to have a positive impact on their wellbeing.
