The Grange residents and staff come together for ‘Tools Down’ Mocktail Hour

As part of Runwood Homes’ ‘Tools Down’ initiative, residents and staff at The Grange care home in Wickford, Essex, came together recently for Mocktail Hour. Staff arranged for a variation of hydrating drinks to be supplied, and mixed some lovely Mocktails together for residents to enjoy together. Residents had a great time socialising with one another and trying out tasty drinks, all whilst staying hydrated.

We are embracing togetherness at Runwood Homes! Every day, staff in all departments at each and every one of our residential care and nursing homes, come together for 'tools down’. For a period of 30 minutes, staff will halt their tasks to spend quality time together with our residents, including those who are limited to their bedrooms, to enjoy conversation, company and to grow companionships. This initiative aims to keep everyone connected with meaningful engagement and communication.

The Grange is a 42 bed home situated in Wickford. This spacious home provides expert care for older people, including those living with dementia. The Grange is only one mile from Silvanna Court in Rayleigh where the Alzheimer's Society meet to discuss and support families.
