Runwood Homes Poetry Competition 2021

Get your pens at the ready because Runwood Homes is launching its very own Poetry Competition!

To celebrate the bloom of a new season, to brighter, warmer days, the theme of the competition will be Spring. Be it happy, positive memories from past springtime’s, or an appreciation of the beauty of the season; vibrant colours, flourishing flowers, and the blossoming of new life, you can write whatever Spring may mean to you!

To spread as much positivity and creativity as possible, this competition is open to all residents, staff members and relatives.

Writing is a stimulating, imaginative activity and poetry is a perfect way to express one’s thoughts, feelings, and emotions. For residents, engaging in poetry activities, whether writing them, or reading them with friends, has a range of positive effects, including communication, increased self-esteem and enhanced self-worth and a true sense of belonging.

Please send all entries to Madelayne.goodall@runwoodhomes.co.uk, and include your name, contact details and the Home you are associated with.

The deadline for the competition will be 15th March 2021 and the winner will be announced on World Poetry Day on 21st March 2021. The top ten entries will be featured in a digital anthology, which will be published across our digital platforms, and the winner will receive a luxury hamper!
