Wayne has worked in Health and Social Care for more than 35 years. On leaving school, Wayne went to work in a care home whilst continuing his A levels at college, before accepting the opportunity to work in management within his local council. Wayne always knew he was meant to work in this field and eventually moved to the private sector as a Care Home Manager.
Working in a variety of Health and Social Care settings, Wayne has developed invaluable skills and knowledge over the years. He has experience in learning disabilities and mental health and previously volunteered for a disability organisation. To become a disability trainer, Wayne took part in a disability training camp for young disabled people, which took place in Moscow, Russia.
For the last 17 years, Wayne has been a Registered Manager, Operation and Senior Manager within a variety of providers both large and small. He has gained his NVQ Level 4 Registered Managers Award and NVQ Level 5 Leadership and Management Award.
Wayne has always believed that people deserve to be treated with respect and dignity and should always be given equal opportunities and chances in life.
Wayne began working with Runwood Homes as Regional Operations Director in January 2021 and shares his vast array of skills and knowledge with the Home Managers he supports.
