Rosedale Court resident, Winnie, celebrates her 100th birthday
Winnie, a resident at Rosedale Court in Rayleigh, Essex, had a wonderful day celebrating her very special 100th birthday.
The home looked back on Winnie’s life to mark her special day.
Winnie once worked at a factory making handbags for the famous Burberry. Even today, Winnie is never far from her own bag, which is always on her lap or on the back of her wheelchair. During the war, she worked as a welder and later made men’s shirts for Marks and Spencer’s. Winnie met her husband during the 2nd World War, and later had their son, John.
All her life, Winnie has enjoyed spending time with others, and was always the first to offer to make a cake for a special occasion, birthdays and Christmas being her speciality.
Today, Winnie is a big part of Rosedale Court, and still very much enjoys a good chat and completing her puzzles!
Happy birthday Winnie. We hope you had a lovely day!
