World Alzheimer's Day

World Alzheimer’s Day takes place every year on 21st September, an international campaign to raise awareness and highlight issues faced by people affected by dementia.

At Runwood Homes, we understand the importance of supporting our residents living with dementia, their families and friends. With our highly trained staff, including the expertise of our Wellbeing and Dementia Team, we aim to provide the very best care for those living with dementia.

A number of our staff, including those of the Wellbeing and Dementia Team, recently completed the Dementia Interpreters Course, which aims to further support people in recognising and more effectively communicating with those living with dementia. The course also supports the Dementia Dictionary, an excellent tool to help understand the language of dementia.
