Ashwood Care Team create 'This is us' display

The team at Ashwood have created a beautiful board at the home featuring each staff member’s photo along with a short backstory.

The board is a lovely reflection of the home and its values, and how they are all family, with close relationships and connections.

The display links well with Runwood Homes’ dignity theme of the month; ‘We are all Family’, which aims to explore the importance of family, our family history, and recognises how everyone who works in the home becomes like family.

The goal this month is to find additional ways that those working in the home can strengthen relationships and boost feelings of comfort and belonging. The board is a lovely way for residents to get to know a little more about the people that care for them, and to know that they are all family, with meaningful connections.

Lisa Meeks, Home Manager at Ashwood, was thrilled with how the display turned out, and commented:

“We created the board as a way to show off the impressive wide range of experience that our Ashwood team holds, why they decided to have a career in care and to really reflect the love that they have working here. The talented team here have achieved so much, in both their personal and professional lives, and I really wanted to showcase that to everyone that visits the home.

The display is also a great conversation starter amongst staff, residents and relatives. I myself have found out so much more about our team here, things that you may not usually ask or get the chance to talk about, so it’s great to create something that emphasises the unique lives and experiences of each individual team member.”

Several members of staff have worked at the home for years, and some have even had their own loved ones stay at the home too, truly showing Ashwood care home really is a home of family, love and trust.
