Maun View residents offer their words of wisdom for the younger generation

Runwood Homes’ residents have so much wisdom and advice to share, accumulated from a lifetime of rich experiences and adventure. At Runwood Homes Senior Living, home teams encourage residents to share their knowledge and life experiences, whether that be in the form of a meaningful chat with friends, through activities that highlight and develop their skills, or with initiatives that celebrate the unique lives of every resident.

The team at Maun View care home, in Mansfield, Nottingham, knowing how much knowledge and wisdom their residents have, decided to ask them for the top tips for the younger generation.  

Over the course of a week, residents were asked for their words of wisdom, and the responses were lovely. Every day for a week, one resident’s words of wisdom were showcased on the home’s Facebook Page, so everyone could see the advice of the inspiring ladies and gentlemen at the home.

One resident’s wonderful words of wisdom came from Brenda, who said:

 “The advice I would like to give to the younger generation is to stay out of trouble and be on your best behaviour at all times!”

Irene too had some inspiring words to share:

“The advice I would give to the children of the next generation is, be footloose, be fanciful and be free!”

Annie took the opportunity to share her advice as well, and said:

“My advice to the younger generation is: don’t get into bad company, enjoy your teen years while you can. It’s not easy bringing children up, so enjoy your young life before you start families.”

Lydia Morris, Customer Relations Manager is always inspired by the residents at Maun View and really appreciated their words, she commented:

“I loved sharing residents’ brilliant words of wisdom. We have such amazing residents at Maun View. There is so much that we can learn from them, and the team here at Maun View are inspired every day.”
