Liberty House residents are proud to take part in the ‘Wear, Share, Care’ initiative, to support Cash for Kids charity

The team and residents at Liberty House in Doncaster are excited to introduce their very own recycling collection point at the home, to support Hallam Fm Cash for Kids.

Instead of throwing away unwanted clothing, the ‘Wear, Share, Care’ initiative encourages participants to recycle these items, so that they can be used again, providing good quality clothing to some of the poorest developing nations in the world, as well as supporting disadvantaged children here in the UK. Everyone at Liberty House is thrilled to be able to take part in such an importance initiative.

The project links in with Runwood Homes’ dignity theme of the month, which focuses on the environment. The theme gives special focus to how homes can help to look after the world around them. We have only one earth, so home teams and residents will be thinking about what they can do to protect and cherish it. Liberty House’s participation in the ‘Wear, Share, Care’ initiative is a wonderful way to mark this month’s theme.

By becoming a collection point, the home continues to make important steps that help protect the environment and encourages those within their community to take part and drop off their unwanted items.

Not only does the project help protect the environment, for every tonne collected, Cash for Kids charity will receive £400 to help continue their amazing support for disadvantaged children.

Liberty House Reception will be accepting recycling collections between 10am-4pm and are asking those in their community to kindly drop off their donations. Gail Walker, Wellbeing Lead at Liberty House said:

“It’s important for companies and organisations such as ourselves to help improve our communities and reach out and help under-privileged children. We encourage our friends, family, and members of the local community to recycle what they can and visit our donation drop-off point.”

Residents at Liberty House are really enjoying seeing the donations roll in and playing a part in such an important initiative.

Well done Liberty House!
