Windmill House residents recognised by town council for Wymondham in Bloom competition
Windmill House, operated by Runwood Homes, invited the residents, relatives and the team, to celebrate its participation in the Wymondham in Bloom competition.
The home has received ‘highly commended’ status for the residents participation in the competition, lighting up the community with hanging baskets and creative floral displays.
The Wymondham in Bloom 2022 brings the community together with the common goal of brightening the town centre with flowers for all to enjoy.
Each resident involved in this year’s project was presented with an award at a celebration tea party by Town CLLR, Annette James and Mayor for Wymondham, Kevin Hurn.
Fran Annis, Wellbeing Lead at Windmill House, commented on the success of the day:
“It was a privilege and delight to see the pride on the residents faces when they received their well-deserved awards. To be recognised in their local community for not only their work on Windmill House garden but also as part of the Wymondham’s town displays is something that the residents are so very proud of.”
CLLR Annette James of the Wymondham town council, said: “The residents, staff, volunteers and families of Windmill House have helped Wymondham In Bloom succeed since we started it in 2019. The residents made lots of bottle bottom plastic flowers for our blooming wall, planted beautiful Jubilee themed planters with the lions and worked hard to make the gardens an attractive outdoor space for all to enjoy.
Very importantly, the work the residents do contributes to Wymondham’s Anglia In Bloom entry where we compete with other towns across the whole of East Anglia.
It is an absolute pleasure and honour to make the presentation of the Commended Certificate to Keith and Ashley of the gardening club.”
