Runwood Homes embraces the harvest festival at Waterfield House

The harvest festival was in full swing at Waterfield House care home in Hadleigh, Ipswich, showcasing many of the wonderful community delights on Saturday the 15^th of October.

Local small businesses were invited to the home to showcase their crafts and food to residents and the wider community. The home welcomed homemade knitted products from Yvonne, homemade Christmas wreath and candle holders by Jo Sheldrake, scrunching and figures for painting by Jordan Oxford and the Waterfield House cake stall.

The event was celebrated by all sections of the community in Hadleigh, Ipswich, and the home received generous voluntary donations from the attendees, which will go towards the residents’ amenity fund.

Overall, the event managed to raise a fantastic £170.50.

One resident’s family member, said: “This was a lovely afternoon thank you. You all work so hard to make sure the residents have a good time, and we are looking forward to the Christmas Market next month.”

Home Manager, Amanda Thackery, commented on the day:

“It was fantastic to see relatives’ families, and the local community come together to celebrate an extra special day with the residents. A massive thank you must go to all the staff who came in to support the harvest festival. I also want to thank everyone; businesses, families and the local community, who supported the event, as we would not have achieved such staggering success without you all.”
