Private pilot pays special visit to Carlton care home, Braywood Gardens.
Braywood Gardens care home in Carlton, Nottingham, welcomed local private pilot Tommy to discuss all things aviation.
Tommy went into great detail about his aviation and war experiences and presented many pieces of equipment from his flight bag, including a headset, flight computer, charts, logbook, and a fuel strainer.
One resident, Johnathan, was eager to share his passion for aviation with Tommy and spent the afternoon learning more about his journey.
For Tommy, sharing his experience of war with residents was a humbling and valuable experience, which the residents at Braywood Gardens thoroughly enjoyed.
Home Manager at Braywood Gardens, Leanne Armstrong, said: “It is important for residents to be able to reminisce on important events that have happened in their lives. The residents were so surprised to have a pilot visit and spend quality time with them, and they look forward to his return.”
Tommy has offered to return again this autumn and talk more with our residents about his flying adventures.
