The residents, team and families at Loganberry Lodge care home joined the Colchester community on Remembrance Sunday.
The Remembrance Day parade took place in city centre, with the main event and silence held at the Colchester war memorial statue at 11am. Hundreds gathered in the square to honour those who have fallen at war.
The home commemorated at Loganberry Lodge with an afternoon tea and a performance by Jenny’s accordionists.
The afternoon entertainment was organised by Flavia, the home’s Residential Care Manager and the food was prepared by the home’s kitchen Chef’s, Irina and Harvey.
Loganberry Lodge were thankful to receive transportation to the Remembrance Sunday parade with the aid of FANS network.
Sinead Whelan, Wellbeing Lead at Loganberry Lodge, said: ““There are no words to describe the monumental feeling of warmth and pride that comes with being a part of such an important event for our country, community and its history. To have been able to enable our residents to contribute and mark their respects, just melted our hearts and I speak for my whole team. Thank you again to FANS network for your continued support and opportunities.”
