Laureate Court care home residents enjoy shopping day at the Boundary Outlet
The team and residents at Laureate Court care home in Rotherham enjoyed a fun-filled day at the Boundary Outlet.
Accompanied by the wellbeing team, Eddie, James, Lyn and Eileen spent the afternoon visiting designer outlets and a wide variety of fashion, home and beauty sections at the shopping centre.
Residents bought a treat for themselves, before the team made way to the Morrisons café to enjoy a spot of lunch.
Shopping days are very important for residents across the Runwood Homes group, encouraging independence, resilience, self-esteem, group solidarity and individual mobility.
Wellbeing Lead, Sharon, from Laureate Court care home, said: “We had a wonderful time with our residents today on our shopping trip, they absolutely loved it. Eddie and Eileen even bumped into friends down the shopping aisles at Morrisons.”
Providing a rich and engaging lifestyle for residents is one of Runwood Homes main values at Laureate Court care home.
Runwood Homes’ experienced Wellbeing and Dementia team work closely with Wellbeing Leads, to create an effective and inclusive activity calendar, taking into account resident’s interests, feedback and their varying needs.
