Loganberry Lodge care home launches new community dementia café

Essex care home, Loganberry Lodge, will be launching a new community dementia café in Stanway, Colchester.

The café will be a safe and supportive service for residents, staff, family members and the local community to socialize with one another and access information on dementia. The café will be open to everyone on Wednesday 29^th of March and will be operating on the last Wednesday of every month.  

At the launch will also be Director of Wellbeing and Dementia Services for Runwood Homes, Paul Gaskell who will present the session to the wider community to discuss the causes of dementia and how to reduce the risks. He will also discuss the different realities and the importance of communication.

The home already has strong links with the local community, and this will be a perfect opportunity for those needing support or a safe space to come together. There will be plenty of free tea, coffee and cake to indulge in whilst the attendees get a better understanding of dementia.

Loganberry Lodge, who are part of Runwood Homes, is a residential care home who are trained to the highest level for early onset and advanced dementia care in Stanway, Colchester, Essex.

If you’re interested in attending the dementia café, there will be no need to book in advance; it will be operating a walk-in service, from 10am to 11am, on Wednesday the 29^th of March.
