Families and residents bond over petting zoo extravaganza at Silvanna Court

On Friday the 8^th of September, Silvanna Court care home transformed into a haven of laughter, smiles, and adorable farm animals, as residents, team members and their families came together to enjoy the home’s very own petting zoo.

The event featured a delightful variety of farm animals, each one a star in its own right. Guests were greeted by goats, ducks, reptiles, guinea pigs, rabbits, turtles and even the daring presence of a tarantula, for the more adventurous souls. 



The family fun day started at 4pm to ensure that children could participate, adding an extra layer of joy to the gathering.

One resident said: “This is the best day ever, I never thought I would be able to get up close and personal with so many animals.”

“We believe in the power of moments like these to bring families closer together” said Marina Hudspeth, Home Manager at Silvanna Court care home. Our family day with the petting zoo created a lovely environment where residents and their families can build lasting memories and connections. Seeing the joy on everyone’s faces was truly heart-warming, and we hope to arrange an event like this in the future.”
