Braywood Gardens resident Ann Eaton celebrates her fabulous 103rd birthday in style!

The home have been celebrating Ann’s103^rd Birthday at Braywood Gardens in Carlton, Nottingham. Staff members decorated a table in their café with white linen, bows around the chairs and big ‘Happy Birthday’ balloons for Ann to celebrate with her family in style. 

They all dined together, with waitress service from Victoria, the homes Wellbeing Lead. Their delicious lunch consisted of steamed fish with hollandaise sauce, potatoes & garden vegetables, and for dessert they chose lemon sponge and custard or artic roll. 

Ann was thrilled with everything and happily reminisced and shared some of her history with staff:

What’s your secret to a long life?

“I haven’t got any secrets,” Ann laughed. “It’s having a good family.”

How do you feel about being 103?

“You can’t do much about it! It’s just a number.”

What did you used to do for fun when you were younger?

“I used to go dancing at the Dance Hall at the other end of town every Saturday. I did a lot of cycling too with my husband, who was my boyfriend at the time. We used to stop at youth hostels, which cost a shilling a night.”
