Vicky Abbott, resident at Braywood Gardens, raises over £700 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Vicky Abbott, a resident who is currently living with three different types of dementia, recently arranged an Alzheimer’s Charity Week with the assistance of the homes Wellbeing Lead, Victoria Roberts, to raise funds and awareness.
Vicky was the driving force at Braywood Garden’s for this charity week, and organised a MacMillan Coffee Morning, a ‘Fake It Bake It’ cake sale, and walked an amazing 1.4km through Gedling Country Park - all to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society.
Residents who could not make it to the Memory Walk did a Lap of Honour around the home to show their support and each received a certificate for completion.
The homes joint effort raised an impressive £700 for the Alzheimer’s Society. Wellbeing Lead at Braywood Gardens said “We are all proud of Victoria Abbott’s strength, determination and positive outlook. She always supports other residents and is now a resident advocate.”
