Residents at Broomhills keep busy with at-home pub night and intergenerational play group.
Everyone was invited, beer and wine was served, music was played and comfortable seating was positioned to encourage group conversation. Residents said they really had a good night and have been inseparable since that evening. This innovative idea helped build new friendships, which we love to see. They’ve called themselves The Broomhills Gang and are looking forward to their next pub experience.
Residents also had a great day taking part in an intergenerational play group, where they came together with children from the local community to play games and chat with one another, which has a whole host of benefits for both the residents and children.
If that wasn’t enough fun, residents at Broomhills enjoyed a shopping trip out to one of their local charity shops to support the community. The ladies had a good giggle and bought themselves some new jewellery - a great time was had by all.
Residents also kept fit during their weekly yoga session. Chair yoga has many benefits for the elderly, as it relaxes the neck and back muscles, helps alleviate body pain, tension and fatigue and helps co-ordinate body movements and improves sense of balance.
