Welcome to Tallis House. Situated in Waltham Abbey, our 101-bed residential care and dementia care home offers person-centred care and an established community for our residents to thrive. At Tallis House, we place a real emphasis on celebrating the lives of each and every one of our residents.

Meet Our Home Manager

Georgina Braithewaite

I began my career with Runwood homes in 2009. I started as a carer in Tallis House, care team leader, deputy manager and now I’m a home manager. My ethos in my role is that with great teamwork, we can achieve anything for our residents and their families, and all our staff members contributes to the success of our home. Our residents are at the centre of everything we do at Tallis House.

At Runwood Homes, we offer a full food and dining menu consisting of breakfast, lunch and dinner along with snacks to suit all dietary requirements. For residents requiring textured food or modified food, rest assured that your loved one’s needs will also be catered for. We take into account meal preferences from each resident in our care and aim to provide their favourite meals that they are used to.

Activities & Events

Your loved one will benefit from a dedicated Lifestyle Coordinator within the home; they will organise and encourage social interactions with a range of engaging activities. The Lifestyle Coordinator will create an activity calendar taking into account your loved one’s interests and varying needs. Activities may include Music and singing sessions, arts and crafts, bingo, baking and visits to outside attractions etc.

My elderly mother chose to go into a care home due to her increasing amount of falls as she felt vulnerable living on her own. She previously had a very unhappy experience in a care home due to them not advising us that the majority of their residents suffered severe dementia, which at that time she did not. Since moving to Tallis House in 2021 she has been very happy and although her own mental health has deteriorated the carers and managers of the home have been exceptionally kind and caring over both her mental health and wellbeing. They keep me informed and updated and I cannot fault their level of care and would recommend the home.
