Clifton residents compete in Boccia NI tournament.
Residents at Clifton Nursing Home in County Antrim had a spectacular experience competing in a Boccia NI tournament recently. Staff at the home said, “They were up against many teams in the community and did so well - we are extremely proud.”
Boccia has been a Paralympic sport since 1984 and is specifically designed for athletes with a disability. Physical activity has an abundance of benefits to elderly people, and it helps maintain the ability to live independently and reduces the risk of falling and fracturing bones. It also reduces the risk of coronary heart disease and of developing high blood pressure, colon cancer, and diabetes.
Clifton Nursing Home is a 100 bed modern care home situated in Belfast. This spacious home provides expert care for older people, including those living with dementia or in need of general nursing.
