The NHS Red Bag scheme was introduced to improve the hospital transfer pathway, making the care handover process much more efficient and completely personalised to each resident being cared for. Records show that patients who arrive at hospital with a Red Bag benefit from a faster pre-assessment resulting in receiving treatment sooner and the length of stay in hospital can be significantly reduced.
The Red Bag holds key information about a residents condition and needs, plus any medication they are taking. The bags also contain personal possessions, clothing and essential items important for their comfort, wellbeing and understanding of their surroundings and treatment. Crowstone house are delighted to win the competition,
