Elizabeth House celebrates new improved status

Elizabeth House care home in Benfleet, Essex, has been recognised for its a radical turnaround following an unsettling time over the past 18 months.

Staff celebrated as a Care Quality Commission report, published on 11 March 2020, rated Elizabeth House care home ‘Good’ in all areas of inspection, with positive changes evidenced in every area of the service.

The new rating was crucial for instilling confidence and a good reputation once again within the local community, namely due to being rated Inadequate in September 2018 by the CQC, following an unsteady management period, and then receiving Requires Improvement status in February 2019, with the further requirement for change implementation, now evidenced.

Home Manager, Arrianne Concepcion, commented, “The team are very much delighted to have received a ‘Good’ rating following our latest CQC inspection at Elizabeth House. The passion, commitment and dedication we all have to look after our residents remains our top priority and we are very happy that this is reflected within the report. We will continue to work hard and go above and beyond in the service of our residents.”

The residential care home in Benfleet Road, Hadleigh, is registered to care for people over the age of 65, including those living with dementia.

The CQC report stated that during the inspection ‘People and those acting on their behalf told us they were treated with care, kindness, respect and dignity. Staff had a good rapport and relationship with the people they supported, and observations demonstrated what people told us,’ and ‘Suitable arrangements were in place to enable people to participate in meaningful social activities to meet their needs,’ and also that ‘People’s comments about the management team were positive.’
