Along with their carers, our residents visited Studley Garden Centre in Mappleborough Green. Everyone had a lovely time, looking around and getting ideas for our garden when spring time arrives. Residents also had lunch at the Garden Centre too which made for a lovely change of scenery.

Four Acres held their our own Burns Night celebrations during the day, which was especially enjoyed by one of our residents who is Scottish. Together, they made Scottish bunting, baked shortbread and had a Scottish based quiz in the afternoon. We adapted our menu slightly too for those who fancied some Burns Night inspired food at mealtimes.

Four Acres arranged a meeting with a community group to talk about being part of a Dementia Friends initiative in Studley.  The Co-op supermarket in Studley are behind the venture and are holding a training session at Four Acres on 13 February to educate people about the effects of dementia for guests to gain a better understanding of the condition.  At the meeting, they also discussed the existence of the Studley Community Dementia garden, which Four Acres are proudly arranging to be a part of once the weather becomes warmer.
