Longview care home unveil new shop, opened by Ray Howard MBE

There was a buzz in the air as the grand opening of Longview’s new shop had finally arrived. The shop, opened by Freeman of the Borough of Castle Point, Ray Howard MBE, sells newspapers, magazines and books, costume jewellery and accessories, greeting cards, confectionary and cosmetics - everything a resident might want.

There was a ribbon cutting event and staff and family joined residents in celebrating the opening of the new shop, which is a great addition to the home. Ray was met by the home manager, Laura, and was taken on a tour of the home by staff member Becky. He said, “I know I speak on behalf of a number of families whose parents are in Longview that they all appreciate the truly excellent job you are doing, and personally I found it a pleasure to open the new residents’ shop.”

It was a true pleasure to host Ray and we hope the shop is a great success at Longview.

Longview is a 70 bed home situated in a quiet residential area of Canvey Island, next to Longview Day Centre. This spacious home provides expert care for older people, including those living with dementia and has been chosen by residents and their families as one of the Top 20 care homes in the East of England.
