Runwood Homes residents pay their respects on Remembrance Sunday.

Staff at Silvanna Court in Wickford, Essex, prepared for Remembrance Sunday by setting up their memorial stand. Jean, a resident at Silvanna Court, was more than happy to assist and help set the stand up, and was clearly very passionate about the cause which was touching to see. Remembrance Sunday honours the service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces community, the British and Commonwealth veterans, the Allies that fought alongside us and the civilian servicemen and women involved in the two World Wars and later conflicts.

Residents at Rowena House in Conisbrough, South Yorkshire, also got involved in an arts and crafts session at the local community craft shop, the Ministry of Crafts. Residents were invited to take part in making a stained glass window art piece for Remembrance Sunday. The residents said it was a very therapeutic and relaxing activity for them, and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Gaye, the craft shop owner, will display the art piece in the shop window surrounded by poppies for all to see.
