Kieun Kwon

Kieun Kwon has been working in the field of dementia for more than fifteen years and has many qualifications in dementia care.

Kieun uses skills from her background in teaching and fine art within Runwood Homes, when decorating new homes with directional signs, and in creating a Dementia Friendly Environment (for example creating old fashioned tea rooms) and delivering meaningful and therapeutic activity training for the care and activity staff.

Kieun is also a UK Sonas Tutor and has been working with people with communication difficulties associated with dementia, through multi-sensory and non-pharmacological approaches that enhance the quality of life for people with dementia.  She is currently taking a leading part in the Dementia LIFE Champion Courses within the company, which involves changing the environment, building collaborative relationships, creativity and person centred-philosophy.

In addition to the above, Kieun is currently facilitating ‘Dementia Friends’ sessions for families of residents and staff in the homes on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Society.
