Residents at The Grange care home in Wickford, Essex, had a brilliant time competing in the homes friendly Bake Off event. Staff assisted as residents grouped together to decorate their cakes with icing, chocolate, and much more, and they all looked great. Spending time baking together is a great way to catch up and talk. It can be an emotive and tactile experience, which is why baking for the elderly, especially those living with dementia, can be such a lovely and rewarding thing.
