Update from our Aylsham care home, St Michael’s Court.
Staff arranged a cheese and wine evening for residents in the dining hall so they could enjoy some indulgent treats and chat away with one another, which went down very well.
Residents also had a great time when some birds of prey made a visit to St Michael’s Court for some petting time. Animals can often provide a sense of companionship to those living with dementia, as well as the ability to soothe anxiety, so the visit had really positive benefits for our residents.
St Michael’s Court were also featured in a local newspaper, Just Aylsham, sharing their recent success they had at their summer fete, arranged by Ryan Stolworthy, Head of Hospitality and Resident Experience. Residents were joined by family, friends and staff to enjoy a barbeque, music from a local band, and three friendly alpacas. One resident enjoyed the alpacas so much they even asked for one for the garden. Ryan said, "It was nice not only family and friends of residents attended, but there were also guests from the local community who had no connection with St Michael’s Court which is fantastic to see.”
St Michael’s Court is a 86 bedroom residential care home situated in the recently developed ‘St Michael’s Care Complex’, near the market town of Aylsham. This spacious home provides expert care for older people, including those living with dementia or in need of general nursing.
