Visiting Pods are making a real difference in Runwood Homes

Visiting Pods are making a real difference in Runwood Homes. Our care homes offer safe, indoor visiting via specially constructed visiting pods, enabling residents and their family and friends to spend time together once again.

The new pods, which meet all of the Governments covid-safe guidelines for care home visiting, have been so well received by everyone, especially as families have been not been able to see their loves ones in care homes for so long due to the pandemic.

With direct access from outdoors, Runwood Homes’ new pods enable visitors to enter an indoor pod area, close the door and sit comfortably to enjoy quality time with their loved ones. The pods are completely enclosed and sanitised after each session, to ensure a safe indoor visiting solution for everyone.
We’re making sure that communication is aided too; the pods can offer a microphone and speaker system so that families may share stories and catch up on lost time easily through the protective Perspex dividing screens.

Customer Relations Manager, Gill Petters, speaks of the new instalments, “Our visiting pods are genuinely appreciated and satisfy a vital need for both resident and visitors. Prospective families searching for care consider this to be a really great feature when looking to an ideal care home, particularly in the current situation we’re all facing.”

A family member at Windle Court came in South Woodham Ferrers, commented to the care team that she can ‘actually have a real conversation with mum’ sitting face to face, and a resident at Low Furlong in Shipston-on-Stour, Warwickshire, said ‘it was lovely to welcome her daughter back into her home’.
To enquire about visiting facilities and sessions, please contact a home directly. Our friendly and helpful teams will be more than happy to assist you with this exciting development.

We thank you for your continued support and understanding throughout the pandemic.
