Waterfield House September Newsletter

Staff and residents at Waterfield House have been thoroughly enjoying themselves throughout the summer, from celebrating National Dementia Carer’s Day, to having a fun flower arranging session, Waterfield House residents have been busy.

Waterfield House had their very own ‘Hawaiian day’, complete with a brand-new Tiki bar which was opened by resident, Michael. Resident’s enjoyed a shandy and a sing-a-long together, and care staff said, "it was a lovely social event all round.”

In addition to this, staff and residents wanted to recognise and celebrate ‘National Dementia Carer’s Day’. To celebrate, residents invited their family members to enjoy some cake and tea, as well as playing some board games in their lounge.

Residents also had the opportunity to try their hand at flower arranging when one of Waterfield Houses’ kind volunteers, Ann, offered to run a session. The afternoon was a great success, and, importantly, residents got their daily dose of simulation, which is essential for older people, especially those living with dementia.

Waterfield House is a modern, well-established, care home in the charming town of Hadleigh, near Ipswich. This 75 bedroom home offers profession care service for older people, including those who live with dementia.
