Resident at Woodbury Court, Harry Johnson, celebrates his 100th birthday

Woodbury Court care home resident, Harry Johnson, celebrated his 100th birthday recently, and was even featured in the local newspaper.

Harry has lived at Woodbury Court, in Laindon, Essex, for two years, and grew up in the aftermath of World War One. He married his wife Gladys in 1942 and they remained married for 70 years until she passed away. They had three children and fostered two more.

Harry celebrated his 100th birthday in style; enjoying some cake and champagne with fellow residents and family, and of course received a letter from the Queen.

Harry told The Echo newspaper that he "doesn't take any medication and lives happily in his care home."
